As one of the skill training courses of the Liangcheng Community Volunteer Service Center, the "Decoupage" low-carbon handcraft activity was held in the center recently.
Under the instruction of art teachers, 50 participants colored and dried the natural wood trays one by one. Finally, they stuck on bottom of the wood trays the patterns they like, and then a personalized work of storage tray is done.
It is learnt that "Decoupage" stems from a French verb which refers to a decoration art that shows unique innovations and designs by cutting beautiful patterns for collage and decorating the collage on home ornaments or furniture. As all the raw materials adopted are recycled ones or wastes such as old furniture and ornaments, the handcrafting is becoming more and more popular among environmentalists.
