The 20th Chin Woo Cup of Martial Art and Calligraphy Competition for Primary and Middles School Students of 2018 Shanghai Amateur Games and the Examination of Martial Art Rank Rising was held at the Chin Woo Stadium from May 19 to May 20, with 2,700 cute athletes from 309 kindergartens, primary schools and middle schools participating in.
Sponsored by the Shanghai Social Sports Management Center, and jointly undertaken by the Shanghai Institute of Martial Art, the District Sports Bureau and Shanghai Chin Woo Athletic Federation, the event embraces 84 teams this year with “martial entering schools” extensively promoted. Over 3,300 participants of 273 teams participated in individual martial art projects, with the youngest one only 4 years old. In addition, all schools and kindergartens increasingly pay attention to traditional Chinese culture, thus participants for calligraphy increase to 102 this year.
It is expected that the event fully carry forward Chin Woo spirit of “patriotism, self-cultivation, justice and kindness”, and carry forward traditional Chinese martial culture. In the meanwhile, it is to encourage students from kindergartens, primary and middle schools to participate in fitness activities, so as to solidly contribute to constructing Shanghai into a sports city.
